Springfield Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting (Developing)

Springfield police announced Wednesday, Nov. 16, that it would open an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that happened earlier that morning.

Police have released few details about what happened so far, and it's unclear what led up to the shooting. 

The shooting happened around 7:20 a.m. in the Woodside Terrace area, Springfield Police said in a statement. Responders took the suspect to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was arrested on numerous charges, authorities said. 

Springfield police did not release the names of the officer or the suspect.
